We sat down with Destany for a Q&A about her first experiences in Fitness, favorite workout spots, and some of her favorite post workout treats.
Where are you originally from?
A: I am originally from Western NY, the finger lakes region. Ended up in San Diego, through the Military...shocker there...
How old are you when you first got into fitness?
A: I’ve played sports my whole life. I started with soccer when I was really small, then as I got older I did cross country, track and field, and did a year of wrestling just to try something new. Once I joined the Marine Corps I really got into bodybuilding.
Where’s your favorite place to workout?
A: That’s a tough one. It depends on what I’m training at the gym. Certain gyms have better equipment for what I want to do. So I guess it vary's on how I'm feeling and what day it is!
What’s your favorite post-workout meal?
My favorite post workout meal is an In-N-Out double double with fries. That's definitely my post workout bliss!
What are some of your hobbies outside of fitness?
A: When I'm not in the gym I really enjoy traveling and adventure, cooking/baking, going to museums, musicals, and plays. I’m sort of an old soul so I like to look at old things and learn about the history of it.
If you could work out with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
A: Hmmm I think I’d have to say Ashley Kaltwasser. Just wanna go through a super rough leg day with her! She’s the glute Queen!
If you had to train only one body part for the rest of your life, what would you train and why?
A: Probably legs. Just because that’s what I do most often already, and I actually enjoy hitting legs.
If you could skip training a body part for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
A: Ughh fricken chest. I just don’t enjoy training chest. I typically only hit it once a week and it’s not a very in depth chest workout anyway.
