ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

Tim Fitsimmons

We sat down with Tim for a Q&A about his first experiences in Fitness, favorite workout spots, and some of his favorite post workout goodies.

Where are you originally from?

A:  I'm originally from the Bay Area, Northern California.  I ended up moving down to San Diego when I joined the Military, and I've been down there ever since!

How old are you when you first got into fitness?

A: I think I started my fitness journey when I started playing sports in high school, and I've never really looked back since.  It's always been something I'm really passionate about, and that hasn't really faded for me.

Where’s your favorite place to workout?

A: I love working out in the sun. Outdoors is the best place to have a gym, especially now that Summer is coming into full swing.  Nothing beats a workout out in the fresh air and the sun on your back!

What’s your favorite post-workout meal?

A: My post workout meals usually consist of chicken and veggies or something as simple as some rice cakes.  I'm usually able to eat pretty clean post workout, to make sure I stay on track.  (Usually being the key word.)

What are some of your hobbies outside of fitness?

A: I'm actually learning to play the guitar at the moment. Otherwise, I love working on cars and doing any woodworking.

If you could work out with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

A: I want to workout with Arnold. I know that is totally cliche, but he's the one that started it all. No way I could pass that up!

If you had to train only one body part for the rest of your life, what would you train and why?

A: Honestly, I think it would be legs. My legs don't work that great after I had my motorcycle accident, so I am always trying to work them and get them stronger.   They're getting there day by day, but it's definitely a process!

If you could skip training a body part for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

A: Truthfully, I don't think I would want to skip anything. I love training, and even if I am not good at them, I love to train everything!
